When you’re hungry as a wolf and dog tired from sniffing along the trail of celebrity stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, how about a “Hollywood Walk of Fame Dog,” a nine-inch hot dog smothered with coleslaw and chopped tomatoes for $4.80. Or maybe a Giada De Laurentis Dog is more your style. Named after chef Giada de Laurentis, it’s nine inches of woof, sautéed peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomato and mozzarella for $5.65.
Stroll around the block to the world famous Pink’s Hot Dogs and silence the growl in your stomach with one (or more) of their hotdogs and hamburgers, if you can decide what you want from their ample list of selections. Take your leash off and add one of their icy brews to bring a smile to your muzzle.
Pink’s is located at 709 N. La Brea Avenue and is a fairly easy walk from Hollywood Boulevard. If you drive, they have an adjacent parking lot, or you can find street parking.
What’s so special about Pink’s Hot Dogs? Not only are their dogs exceptionally delicious, they’re a Hollywood icon and a quintessential Hollywood hangout. They’ve been serving Hollywood star-hounds and celebrities alike for over seven decades. Some of the many luminaries who have greased—er, graced these hallowed grounds are Michael Jackson, Bill Cosby, Jay Leno, Steve Martin, Orson Welles, Marlon Brando, Aretha Franklin and Betty White. Even top chefs Emeril Lagasse (try the “Bam Dog”), Bobby Flay and Giada herself have dined here. You can see photos of many of these celebs displayed along the dining room walls.
