Whether you’re a Tourist or a Townie, there’s always something different and fun to do in the Los Angeles area. But the cost of fun in the City of Angels can add up fast. Below is number 17 in a series of 25 things to do in Los Angeles that will cost $25 or less.
Feel like “dancing with the stars” but don’t know how? Learn the East Coast Swing and take it for a spin at “Swing Out Saturday Night” hosted by the Pasadena Ballroom Dance Association. Sisters Erin and Tami Stevens started the organization in 1983 to promote all forms of social dance. They teach ballroom dance year ‘round, $75 for a 6-week series or $15 for a single class.
Every Saturday night at 8:00-11:30 pm, they have swing dances with live swing bands for only $15.00 per person. Even if you don’t have a clue how to ballroom dance, come and have some fun! There are free East Coast Swing classes just prior to each dance at 7:30-8:00 pm. Don’t worry if you don’t have a partner. They’ll pair you up and you rotate through the group for the lesson. Then the dance begins. The place is always packed, so you won’t be without a partner for long.
Swing Out Saturday Night is held at GRACE HALL (unless otherwise noted), 73 N. Hill Avenue in Pasadena (behind the church). Parking is free in the church lot. Check their website for details: http://pasadenaballroomdance.com/.
